Can men and women be just friends?!?
I know I wrote about this earlier... but then, after watching these two movies - the classic 'When Harry Met Sally' and the recent 'Jaane Tu...', the wheels on this have started turning again.
A guy and a girl who are the best of friends, who always wanna please each other, stand up for each other and blah blah; cannot remain friends. It just cannot happen.
Since the above is true (well, atleast according to me!), love gets built on this friendship. And usually, it ends up being quite strong. By QFD, the friendship leads to the love. It is like a 'layer' of love has been stuck on top of the friendship layer.
So, say, by some unfortunate chance, the love fails. What happens then? If we peel this layer of love off now, does that friendship still remain? I know that it would not.
So isn't it plainly ironic, that it takes friendship to build the love. And when the love goes, the friendship goes too.
So I agree with Harry. This guy and girl can never remain friends. 'Cos once love enters the picture, the friendship kinda ends. And so when that love exits, the friendship, which had ended earlier, never gets built again.

very true.. in my experience, you can continue to be formal and friendly with you ex, but the same friendship will never be there. Even in my case, I had to really make peace with it to continue talking to him as it was a really bitter breakup.
But in the end, things happen for the best... I truly believe that.
